HOW IT WORKS

POP UP GARDEN STANDS

Are you in need of fresh fruits and vegetables? Do you know someone who may not have healthy food options readily available to them? The mission of this garden club is to provide free fruits and veggies to anyone that comes to our pop up garden locations. Each week, there will be a produce stand set up complete with shopping bags to fill up with yummy home grown goodies. It is a simple first come first serve program and no calls or reservations are required.

Volunteers will be on site to complete the mission and ensure each person leaves with their needs being met.

Lyric's Garden is watered with love from club members and volunteers to ensure we are giving away the best tasting fruits and veggies!

Special thanks to our virtual garden club members who provide seeds and/or produce from their host gardens.

TWO  WAYS TO JOIN THE CLUB

1. BECOME AN ON SITE MEMBER

We would love to have you as part of our team! Anyone of any age can join the garden club. There are many things to be done like watering, weeding, planting, picking, sorting and even preparing for our pop up garden stands. The members and volunteers do lots of fun things too like having garden parties (with lots of entertainment from our little president), making posters, taking pictures, travelling to host gardens to gather fruits and veggies and much more!

2. BECOME A VIRTUAL MEMBER

We realize you may not live in our area or may not be able to commit to helping with give days. However, we want and need your help. As a virtual member, you may help in a few ways.

  • If you live in the DC/MD/VA area and have a vegetable garden, you may become a host garden. Our members and volunteers will come to your location and assist with the crop and will accept any fruit or vegetable donations you wish to give us for our give dates.

  • You may want to donate seeds to our club and help good things grow!

Without the help of our host gardens and seed donations, we would not be able to give free fruits and veggies to hundreds of people each month.

Membership is free so contact us today to join the Grow -N- Give initiative.

GOOD THINGS ARE gROWING

Lyric started growing tomato plants with her Mimi at the age of three. She would watch through the window excited to see each one become ripe. Her garden now consists of fruits and vegetables such as peas, tomatoes, blueberries, cucumbers, squash, green peppers, red peppers, green beans, radishes and egg plant to name a few.
